BEAMS mission is to provide comprehensive support services to children and young people with any form of physical, learning or sensory impairment living in Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas.
They aim to support the whole family through a range of services that directly benefit and assist those dealing with the challenges of raising a disabled child.
Beams was established as a charity in 1996 by a group of parents. They believed that they could deliver better support for their disabled children by working together, rather than the help they were currently getting through the local authority. They became directly accountable to the parents, carers and young people who accessed their services.
Since then the charity has grown significantly and they now offer five key services to at least 450 parents and children at any one time.
BEAMS has big ambitions to continue to grow their services to ensure that they can continue to support all disabled children and young people.
